Wellington Water, in collaboration with Greater Wellington Regional Council, is updating flood hazard models for Upper Hutt to inform future urban planning and infrastructure investment.
Council offices close from midday 24 December and reopen 5 January. + Essential services will continue. For urgent issues, call 04-527 2169.+ Cut-off dates are in place for LGOIMAs, LIMs, consents, and alcohol licensing applications.+ Check with your rubbish provider for bin collection dates.+ Visit Upper Hutt Libraries and H2O Xtream websites for holiday hours.
+ Fergusson Drive: Road surface repairs until 20 Dec. Expect lane diversions, stop/go traffic, and some bus stop changes.+ Hikurangi Street: Civil works for housing development until 19 Dec. Traffic management in place.+ Stream Grove pedestrian crossing closed for track works: 27 Dec–11 Jan, 6am–6pm. + Gloucester St & Whitemans Valley Rd: Pre-seal repair works underway.

This event offers a convenient and environmentally responsible way to recycle your unwanted electronics. Join us for a drive-through event that makes recycling easy and accessible for everyone!
In 2024, their Auckland E-Days successfully diverted 199,000kg of e-waste, engaged over 8,000 participants, and raised $4,500 for Variety. They’re on a mission to hosting fortnightly E-Days and from April 2025 will host events across the Greater Wellington region, including Porirua and Upper Hutt.
