Transport Procurement Strategy
We are responsible for 252km of roading (as at 1 July 2023) that is used by visitors and locals all day, every day. It is important that we can maintain and deliver a roading programme to our users in a fair, cost effective way.
Our roading procurement strategy is developed to ensure we maximise best value and value for money when it comes to managing procurement processes for our roading programme.
Aligned with the Land Transport Management Act (2003) and the Local Government Act (2002), our strategy works towards a goal of an even playing field for contractors, while supporting competition among tenderers from local, regional and national contractors.
