Your Council rates
The new rating year started on 1 July 2026 and runs through 30 June 2027.
Here are our top 4 most popular rates requests which you can do online.
- Receive rates by email: Sign up to have your rates notices delivered to your inbox, not your letter box.
- Set up a Direct Debit Payment: This is Council's preferred method of payment. Sign up to have your rates Direct Debited.
- Solicitor requests rates information: The Rates Team can provide rates information to solicitors who are acting on behalf of their client in respect to properties.
- Urgent requests:
If your settlement is happening sooner than 3 working days, please contact our office at rates@uhcc.govt.nz and mark the request "Urgent". If you are not a solicitor that we work with regularly, please be sure to provide us with your phone number in case we need to get in touch with you.

Regular requests: Once you have submitted a request, the rates office will review your request and respond within 3 working days.
- Property search: Use our Rates Property Search tool to find out property information such as rates and valuations. You can search by valuation number, street number and street address, and/or legal description.
