Anzac Day 2026

Join us tomorrow morning as our community gathers at dawn to celebrate the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who served our country.

The parade will assemble in the carpark on Queen Street at 5.30am before marching to the Anzac remembrance statue at 5.45am outside the Upper Hutt Civic Building, where the Dawn Service will commence at 6am.

Our annual Short Story Competition is back again – it's time to make Upper Hutt's writing talent shine. Slice of life, fanfiction, vignette, a classic fable.

Don't forget, entries must be received by 5pm on Sunday 10 May 2026.

Akatārawa Cemetery

Akatārawa Cemetery provides burial and ash interment services to both Upper Hutt and Lower Hutt cities. It is managed by Upper Hutt City Council and operated on a daily basis by staff.
