Te Aka o te Kupenga Maidstone Park Trust is seeking trustees

We are looking for two community champions to join Te Aka o te Kupenga Maidstone Park Trust and help steer the future development of Te Kupenga o Rongomai Maidstone Sports Hub.

Te Aka o te Kupenga Maidstone Park Trust is a board of seven trustees who govern the operation of Te Kupenga o Rongomai Maidstone Sports Hub and some other associated Maidstone Park facilities.

What are we looking for in candidates for the roles?

We’re looking for two trustees with strong experience in governance and an understanding of and commitment to te ao Māori. You must have passion for promoting sports, recreation, play, and leisure in Upper Hutt, and have established networks within this sector.

You need to have good communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to think strategically—especially in the future planning space—to help position Te Kupenga o Rongomai Maidstone Sports Hub as a community hub for all of the Upper Hutt community.

This time, we’re particularly looking for trustees that have a sound understanding of law and legislation in New Zealand, and/or have a marketing/communication background.

What opportunities do these positions offer?

As a trustee, you’ll actively contribute to vital discussions, offering your expertise to support and guide the implementation of transformative policies that govern the operations of Te Kupenga o Rongomai Maidstone Sports Hub.

Trustee positions are voluntary. The term of office is up to three years, with meetings held every six weeks.
