Council is proposing to revoke the reserve status of part of the recreation reserve adjacent to 63 Black Beech Street and sell it to the owner of that property.
The section that connects Black Beech Street to the Hutt River Trail will be unaffected.
The recreation reserve is ‘L’ shaped and connects Black Beech Street to the esplanade reserve which runs alongside the Hutt River and is part of the Hutt River Trail.
Around half of the reserve is a between the boundary of 63 Black Beech Street and the esplanade reserve.
The reserve revocation process is a statutory process as determined by the Reserves Act 1977, which requires public notification of the proposal to revoke reserve status.
Council is making this proposal on the basis that the reserve is currently occupied by the neighbouring property, which does not impact access to the trail.
We are seeking feedback on this proposal and would like to hear from you if you have any concerns.
