The 2025 Upper Hutt Santa Parade is set to be another exciting event, so mark your calendars for Sunday 14 December 2025! Rain or shine Main Street on Sunday 14 December 2025 from 3.00 pm.

What’s New This Year?

This year’s Santa Parade theme is Lights, Camera, Christmas! We all have a favourite Christmas movie! Bring your favourite Christmas movie to life with a Christmas movie themed float. Whether it’s Home Alone, the Polar Express or even Die hard...

There is a $1,000 prize for the float that best reflects the ‘Christmas movie’ theme, and a $250 prize for the People’s Choice Award and a and a $250 prize for the best business float, voted for by the public on our Facebook page in the week following the parade.

Santa Parade Road closure times:

Kowhai Ave—from Logan St to Exchange St. Closing from 12.00 – 5.30 pm. Reopening when the street cleaner has been through, and it is safe to reopen the road.
King St—from Kowhai Ave to Andrews Ln. Closing from 12.00 – 5.30 pm. Reopening when the street cleaner has been through, and it is safe to reopen the road.
King St—from Andrews Ln to Fergusson Dr. Closing from 3.00 pm until the last float passes through (approximately 45 minutes).
Cairo St—closing from 12.00 – 5.30 pm. Reopening when the street cleaner has been through, and it is safe to reopen the road.
Main St—from King St to Gibbons St. Closing from 2.00 – 5.30 pm. Reopening when the street cleaner has been through, and it is safe to reopen the road. Carparks will be coned off from 12.00 pm.
Royal St—closing from 3.00 – 5.30 pm. Car parks will be coned off from 12.00 pm along Royal St.
