Winter Ready: Warmer Kiwi Homes

Winter is here — and so is the chance to make your home warmer, drier, and more energy-efficient. This June, we’re teaming up with EECA to bring you a free local event focused on comfort, affordability, and sustainability at home.

You'll learn practical tips to cut energy bills, reduce dampness, and keep your home cosy — all while doing your bit for the environment.

Everyone deserves to live in a warm, dry home. The Warmer Kiwi Homes programme can help by covering up to 90% of the cost of insulation and up to 80% off the cost of an energy-efficient heater.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Own and live in a home built before 2008, and
  • Live in Trentham North, Ebdentown, or Brentwood,
     OR anywhere in Upper Hutt and hold a Community Services Card or SuperGold Combo Card.

What’s available:

  • Insulation Grant – if your home has no ceiling or underfloor insulation.
  • Heating Grant – if your home is already insulated but lacks a qualifying heater (e.g. heat pump, wood or pellet burner, flued gas heater, or central heating).
