Are you ready to park-take in this year's Parks Week?

Along with other councils across Australia and Aotearoa, we're celebrating parks between 2 and 10 March.

Parks and open spaces are important places for communities to connect, relax, play, and recreate. Parks play a vital role in creating liveable cities and thriving communities. Upper Hutt has many parks and open spaces, some of these are also managed by Greater Wellington Regional Council.

To celebrate Parks Week, we’ve listed a variety of events in different parks around Upper Hutt below:

  • Saturday, 2 March – Karapoti Classic, 10.00am

  • Tuesday, 5 March - Rock Painting at Trentham Memorial Park, Barton St Entrance, 3.30pm – 5.00pm

  • Thursday, 7 March - Rock Painting at Maidstone Park – Green Space, 3.30pm – 5.00pm

  • Saturday, 9 March - Te Kupenga o Rongomai Unveiled: A community celebration , 11.00am - 2.00pm
