Local Elections 2025

Local elections opens on Tuesday, 9 September and all enrolled voters are eligible to vote by 12 noon on Saturday, 11 October 2025.

 

This year's local elections will give you the chance to vote for local and regional councillors, as well as members to represent Upper Hutt in Rimutaka Licensing Trust.

Whether you're looking to enrol to vote, information on candidates, locations of our voting bin to drop off your voting papers, or key dates, you'll find everything you need here to participate in shaping the future of our Upper Hutt community.

Elections for all local authorities in New Zealand are held every three years using the postal voting method.  Make sure you're enrolled and your details are up-to-date, so that you will receive your voting papers in the mail.
