We once again had the pleasure of planting native trees for Arbor Day in conjunction with Forest and Bird – Upper Hutt and Fergusson Intermediate School.
Last week, 250 native trees were planted along the back of Barton’s Bush, extending the native tree line and aiding in one of our Sustainability Strategy goals: We will prioritise protecting and enhancing our natural environment. Increasing the number of native trees brings with it an increased native bird presence and many new spots for residents and visitors to enjoy some shade on sunny days.
Check out the video below to hear Lynne from Forest and Bird – Upper Hutt share more about it.
