From 1 to 17 March, to align with the Wellington Pride Festival, there will be a range of activities happening across Upper Hutt which allow you to celebrate Pride.
Maybe it will be as simple as shopping at retailers that display a ‘Everyone is Welcome Here’ sticker or wearing your favourite rainbow gears.
Head along to Humble & Grand to shop their Pride merchandise. Grab a pair of rainbow socks (stripes or spots, your choice) and wear them with Pride knowing that $5 from every pair sold goes to InsideOUT. You can support Pride all day, everyday with their merchandise available for purchase online and in store all year round.
Upper Hutt Central Library has a bunch of activities that celebrate our rainbow community. Check out their Pride book display, head along to the Pride themed StoryTots sessions or make your way to Sophie Labelle's Author Talk, a neuro-divergent trans cartoonist and novelist from Canada speaking about her art process, activism and community building.
Wellington Pride Festival also have so many events happening across the two weeks. From a Pride Hikoi and Pride Youthball, to Wellington's Pride Parade, there are plenty of ways you can get involved.
