Section 101 Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012

Wellington Family Speedway Society Incorporated has applied to the District Licensing Committee in Upper Hutt for a CLUB licence renewal  for the premises situated at 1039a State Highway 2, Te Marua, Upper Hutt and known as Wellington Family Speedway. 

The general nature of the business conducted (or to be conducted) under the licence is:

Club selling alcohol to consume on site.

The days on which and the hours during which alcohol is (or is intended to be) sold under the licence are:

Monday to Sunday 4pm to 1am (the following day)

Objections

Any person may object to an application for the grant or renewal of a licence, whether as an individual or as a representative of a group or an organisation.

However, a trade competitor may object to an application only if the trade competitor is directly affected by the application in a way that does not relate to —

  • trade competition; or
  • the effects of trade competition; and

A person may not object to an application if the person receives, or is likely to receive, direct or indirect help from a trade competitor to object to the application.

Objections must not be lodged later than 25 working days after the date of the publication of this notice, file a notice in writing of the objection with the Secretary, Upper Hutt City District Licensing Committee, Private Bag 907, Upper Hutt.

Objecting to the issue of new licence: No objection to the issue of a licence may be made in relation to a matter other than a matter specified in section 105(1) of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.

Objecting to the renewal of an existing licence: No objection to the renewal of a licence may be made in relation to a matter other than a matter specified in section 131 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.

A copy of your objection in its entirety will be provided to the applicant, Licensing Inspector, Police and Medical Officer of Health and District Licensing Committee.
