Visit Akatārawa Cemetery

Akatārawa Cemetery is located just north of Upper Hutt City in the beautiful bush clad Akatārawa Valley providing a tranquil setting to commemorate the passing of a loved one.

Opening hours

Gates open daily from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm (8.00 pm during daylight saving)

Funeral hours

Monday - Friday: 8.00 am - 5.00 pm
Saturday: 8.00 am - 1.00 pm
No services held on public holidays.

Toilets

Toilets are located behind the Cemetery office at the far end of the cemetery, and near the Crematorium.

Free bus service for Upper Hutt Residents

On the last Tuesday of the month, a free door-to-door bus service is available to Upper Hutt Residents, taking them to and from the cemetery. Call (04) 566 3103 to book.
