Ngāti Tama Park is located in the suburb of Totara Park, Upper Hutt.
Ngāti Tama Park is a sprawling green space that is located between Awa Kairangi Park and Larchmont Reserve, it backs onto Te Awa Kairangi - Hutt River.
The park is very popular for family and social groups playing, biking and walking together. It is also popular for joggers, cyclists, and dog walkers.
Trails
Ngāti Tama Park is one of many entry points to the Hutt River Trail which runs from Petone to Upper Hutt. It is an easy scenic walk and cycle path which also allows access to the river for swimming, fishing and kayaking. For more information and maps visit Greater Wellington Regional Council.
River access
There are several areas where you can access the river by foot. When swimming in Upper Hutt's rivers please remember river safety.
