Community organisations in Upper Hutt received help from over seventy NZDF volunteers last Friday, as part of a Council partnership with NZDF’s Employee Volunteer Programme.
The mainly civilian staff from the Defence Equipment Management Organization (DEMO) unit rolled up their sleeves for nine community organisations:
“We were excited to partner with DEMO as part of their employee volunteer programme, and help find volunteers for projects that provide benefit to the community” says Director of Community Services, Mike Ryan. “This was a great opportunity for valuable community organisations to benefit from volunteer support”.
