Libraries are a core function of Council, responsible for delivering library services to the Upper Hutt community across a seven-day operation. Working within the Central Services Team, you will help us deliver proactive and engaging Central Library services that enrich the lives of our Upper Hutt community.
We have two on-call contracts available, preferably for people who are available Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9.30am and 7pm. Some weekend work may also be available.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A passion for providing excellent customer service and be capable of dealing with the public in a confident, calm, and friendly manner that will bring credit to yourself and the Council.
- An understanding of public libraries and their role in their communities.
- Teamwork skills and the ability to work positively with colleagues.
- A clear understanding of, and commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi Principles.
- Well-developed computer skills.
